Digital Diversion

Supporting their latest release, Disambiguation, Underoath his San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom like a bomb.  After Thursday’s raucous set, much of the crowd vacated the floor, no doubt to escape the unusually steamy room for some fresh air.

By the time Underoath took the stage at 10:20 pm, the crowd was back albeit somewhat tapped out energy-wise.  Maybe it was the mood set by the dramatic lighting which largely ignored the house rig in favor of  the back and side-lighting of the band’s stage setup that kept the crowd-surfers at bay.  Or maybe it was that their energy was channeled into the band where all members (with the exception of rhythm guitar player James Smith) unleashing all for the near-capacity crowd.
