I always find the The Oakland Metro to be deceptive in size; waiting in a line that wraps around the block only to get inside and find it empty. In between bands, people tend to head off the the other room where there’s a bar, table and merch or outside for a smoke, then miraculously appear in time for the first chord leaving me still wondering where all these people had been hiding.
By the time DevilDriver hit the stage, the room was packed to the gills and the crowd, which had been energetic for the supporting bands, stepped it up a few notches with plenty of stage diving and a healthy pit. Unfortunately the light was low and erratic and my pictures meh so you’ll have to take my work for it.
