Pop punkers Bayside are on the road celebrating 15 years as a band along with openers Seaway, Man Overboard and Senses Fail who all clearly brought their A-game to San Francisco's Fillmore. While not quite sold-out, the Fillmore was definitely packed ... especially for a Sunday night; the opening acts didn't hold back and neither did the crowd and by the time Senses Fail wrapped up their set and the kids escaped the floor for a breath of fresh air, it was hard to imagine the energy could keep up much longer.

Pop punkers Bayside are on the road celebrating 15 years as a band along with openers Seaway, Man Overboard and Senses Fail who all clearly brought their A-game to San Francisco’s Fillmore. While not quite sold-out, the Fillmore was definitely packed … especially for a Sunday night; the opening acts didn’t hold back and neither did the crowd and by the time Senses Fail wrapped up their set and the kids escaped the floor for a breath of fresh air, it was hard to imagine the energy could keep up much longer.

While you would certainly expect the woman up front the whole night with the  Cult neck tattoo to be primed for their set, but any lingering doubt that the rest of the fans could hang with Bayside quickly evaporated when they took the stage at 9:50 pm. Launching into Pigsty from their 2014 break-out album Cult, Bayside quickly made their presence known and underscored not only their headlining position this night, but the reason that they’ve been able to keep it going for fifteen years.

Careening through a career retrospective including an epic Smoking Popes cover (of which there were more than a few fans in the crowd), Bayside made sure to give the fans what they wanted even if it meant short-changing the latest release. After all, the “15 Year Birthday Tour” was meant to be a celebration of all that had come before and not necessarily a single point in time. From that that perspective, the setlist could not have been more perfect and from the number of crowd surfers as well as the sheer volume of singing in the room, it’s a fair certainty that those in attendance would agree.

Bayside wraps up their “15 Year Birthday Tour” in New Jersey on April 4 and heads to Europe at the end of May.
