San Francisco turned out in full force for an evening of power metal from Powerwolf on their debut US tour along with Seven Kingdoms. out of Florida. Any nerves that the band may have had about the response from the San Francisco crowd was quickly allayed as soon as they launched into “Faster Than the Flame” and the room absolutely erupted.

Frontman ‘Attila Dorn’ was visibly flabbergasted by the positive response, pausing briefly to comment before continuing to blast through the epic hour and 45 minute set which included a tease of the band’s upcoming release Interludium with “Sainted by the Storm.”

No doubt Powerwolf’s mini tour of the US is intended to test the waters, a practical move for a band that has commanded the largest festival stages across Europe but is only dipping it’s toe across the pond. Well if Friday night’s show (which competed against a number of metal shows across the Bay) is indicative of the rest of the tour, Powerwolf will no doubt be back to lay waste to a much broader swath of North America!
